The Florida Tag Team Championship[5] is a professional wrestling tag team championship owned and promoted by Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), the developmental territory of WWE. It is contested for in their tag team division. The championship was created and debuted on February 23, 2008 at a FCW house show.[4]
The first champions were The Puerto Rican Nightmares (Eddie Colón and Eric Pérez) who won a one night tag team tournament by defeating Steve Lewington and Heath Miller in the finals to become the first champions.[4] CJ Parker and Donny Marlow are the current champions in their first reign, after defeating Big E Langston and Calvin Raines on July 21, 2011 in Tampa, Florida, to win the titles. The Puerto Rican Nightmares and Joe Hennig/Michael McGillicutty hold the record for the most reigns with three reigns. The shortest reign lasted less than one day as Justin Gabriel and Kris Logan won and lost the title during the same FCW Television taping event. Johnny Curtis, Tyler Reks and The Dude Busters (Caylen Croft and Trent Baretta) hold the record for the longest reigns (as tag teams) with 140 days respectively, while Curtis holds the record of longest individual reign (with different teams) at 224 days.
